I am sailing

After some great festive days today was for decluttering; again some steps on the long but rewarding journey to simplicity are made.

1,3 Queensday 2 Couldn´t resist this sailor, so I brought it home with me :)

Preps & Props

 

We had a great time yesterday kicking off the preperations for my babysisters wedding coming winter. I will be responsible for decoration, design and photography, so busy times coming, but looking forward :)

and... after 4 (!) months with no internet, I am reconnected to the web again, which makes me a verrry happy lady!

Today is/was my Birthday!

It happened, I'm 30! In contrast to the days leading up to it was an awesome day , celebrated just the way I like it: going big on a small party. Close family & friends, food, sun, picknicking & great gifts! My house is a Mess, but my heart is Happy.

The final countdown..

I will turn 30 in ten days. I am not proud of it but I have been struggeling with the number 30 a bit since I turned 29 (and maybe even before that), but lately (just in time :) I think I made peace with it. Life is a journey and I am thankfull for where I am in mine. Ten cupcakes to go :)

My-little-big-sister is going to be 18 today! (I was in my teens when she was born, which felt extra special) I will be hosting her party tonight. The Rocky Road is already waiting for her in the fridge!

Hippie Easter

Ah this easter was so good for my soul, spend every minute*, from early in the morning untill late in the evening, outside. walking, picknicking, sunbathing, chatting & eating. Spending time in nature just makes you feel so peaceful, don't you think? It made me think once again that I could be perfectly happy living a hippie lifestyle.

I just absolutely can't believe how fast this year is passing by! I don't feel ready yet for closing this year and for christmas, but fact is it's already here. So I better surrender: Leave my to do list out of sight and sip my hot choclate & listen to this. Tomorrow I'm off to 'Köln' to celebrate!

Improvising

Last Sunday we decided to do a last minute 'Sinteklaas' gathering with a big pile of improvised gifts & sweets (left overs from four households). It was real fun to see how creative everybody had been making something of all most nothing!

Happy December (& CV: Rain)

This time last year was very rainy, now we have snow! I am enjoying these cold days and time indoors a lot so far. The hot coffee and hot choclate just taste so good after a walk in the freezing cold & since yesterday evening there is the a light but lovely scent of the (real!) christmas tree. Good time for deep thoughts and lots of reading. Hello December!

Do you see any differences?

I have a huge fascination for the passing of time. Something I discuss (and joke about) every birthday. This musn't be mustaken for the 'I-want-to-be-forever-young' thought ' it's more that I'm really conscious of the fact that time is a gift. How can I make the most of every minute? I think one of the strongest tools there is to make the most of every minute is not waisting time by doing things for the wrong reasons (don't I sound wiser already?;) Every birthday is like an evaluation & like a second chance.
