Preps & Props

 

We had a great time yesterday kicking off the preperations for my babysisters wedding coming winter. I will be responsible for decoration, design and photography, so busy times coming, but looking forward :)

and... after 4 (!) months with no internet, I am reconnected to the web again, which makes me a verrry happy lady!

Mama

Mothersday was made for moms like my mom. It's hard to see all the challenges she has to face, but I know she will conquer them all, she always does.

Self-Portrait

doing a self-portrait was suggested here. This is a photo of my sister and me last monday afternoon in the park near to my house. Lately we are told we look alike more and more. The book on my lap is (translated) 'the question for creativity'. I used it in a thesis several years ago. Now I'm reading it with new eyes.

Today is/was my Birthday!

It happened, I'm 30! In contrast to the days leading up to it was an awesome day , celebrated just the way I like it: going big on a small party. Close family & friends, food, sun, picknicking & great gifts! My house is a Mess, but my heart is Happy.

Box of Tricks

Once I showed him the tricks of this 'box' my two year old nephew couldn't get enough of it :)

I'm wondering where I have the first real* photographs I made, I think I must have been thirteen. Do you still rememberthe first time you hold a camera?

(* I rembember 'taking photographs' with my paper camera of the parents at a schoolparty when I was four :))

Eight Days

Eight days ago I became aunt (again) of this precious fellow. Only a couple of hours home after spending two hot sleepless summerdays with my sweet little nephews and I already miss them.

Flower Power

I did a little photoshoot with my mom last saturday, I love how the photos turned out! Life has been challenging for her and it's great to see her reconnect to the hippie-ish girl she once was. So here is to Flower Power :)

P.S. About the Rocky Road: Melt the choclate of your taste with some cream, add cookcrumbs & marshmallows (or whatever you like: nuts, dried fruit etc.). Pour the mixture in the shape you like and let it cool in the fridge, very easy.. And yes it was very yummie and no one should not eat this too often :)

My-little-big-sister is going to be 18 today! (I was in my teens when she was born, which felt extra special) I will be hosting her party tonight. The Rocky Road is already waiting for her in the fridge!

Early this morning I finally had the chance to spend some time with my nephew (didn't see the little one for almost two months) and my sister. We had Coffee, went thrifting & encouraged each other to follow our hearts. Today was a good day

Improvising

Last Sunday we decided to do a last minute 'Sinteklaas' gathering with a big pile of improvised gifts & sweets (left overs from four households). It was real fun to see how creative everybody had been making something of all most nothing!

Yesterday or Autumn II

Babysitting with grandma, grandpa & three aunts (me& my sisters) at my place. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Corner View: Saturday

When I first got my camera two years ago (canon 400 d)I read the whole manual and tried all kind of different options. I still use it every day and love love my camera, but I became quite lazy with the settings, I'm not the most technical person and it just looks to complicated sometimes. Last saturday I began rediscovering my camera..oh the possibilities!I love the monochrome, especially for portraits.

Relieffff..............

I don't even have words for the relieve I'm feeling. After two weeks of emotions, of waking up with a stone on my stomache, of trying to focus on positive things, of praying...

good reports!!! I had to walk it into my system.

(& just found out that sweet youngest siss managed to graduate despite the stress!!)

All is gonna be okay.

From where I am sitting/Sharing

I wanted to skip todays cv. I didn't feel like anything. Monday morning my father got a very worrying phone call from the hospital. Now I am living between fear and hope. One moment I am sure everything will be okay, the other moment...

From where I was sitting I became aware of these symbols and decided to get out of my shell a bit and share. Hope you don't mind.. So here is a little reminder of Faith, Hope and Love.

She's back! Full of stories and..... with the intention to stay for a while!!

1. & 3. Don't you love the design of these gate doors? They 'kiss' every time the door closes, it made the waiting a lot more fun :)
