Dear artist in me,

I told you I wouldn't forsake you, sorry it took me so long this time.. Reconnecting

Also literally reconnecting, someone broke in to my house and took my laptop and Canon and lots and lots of work with it. Now I'm catching up, doing it all over again & hopefully better.

Connecting the Dots

I am working on a short art course that I will be teaching. This made me ask myself what it is about making stuff I enjoy the most and how my creative activities are described the best. My art (or the things I make) for me is a product of living a creative live. Of being playfull, of being conscious of the world and beauty around me and the constant wish to not just live life, but to design life. Even better than an end-product for me are my little books of notes, drawings, quotes & souvenirs I've been keeping since I was a child. A few months ago I discovered there is not only a name  for the thing I've been doing so long,  but that there is even a whole (very inspiring) scene out there! And -as always when you discover something- I can't believe I never heard of it before. I am talking about art journaling, also described as creative of visual journaling. I feel like this is the connecting the dots that have been floating through my mind for some time now. A very good feeling :) What about you? Do you do any kind of creative journaling?

Leaf

The trees are dropping their leafs. I'm doing the same. Learning to 'let go'. Making room for new things to grow.

(autumn is also the time of...creating! more about that tomorrow)

Street Art

In some places (like Berlin) they take the phrase the world is my playground quite litteraly :) I love spotting street art whenever I feel creatively stuck, It always reminds me to forget about rules for a moment and play! 

Space

Making an other (quite succesfull) attempt to get my studio space organised. Although I dont't have a talent for minimalism, I am still relieved every time a bag of clutter leaves my house. (& refound some good stuff along the way :) 

Impression

Jump!

Last saturday my brother made 'the big jump' which we celebrated with a sunny garden party. Sunday we spent jumping outside (although I stayed savely behind the camera, ofcourse :) and today I jumped into something new, which I am very excited about!
