When I was a kid I wanted to be an inventor. One of my 'inventions' was a flying machine out of a cardboard box and balloons. I was convinced that I could take my sisters and friends on a flying trip if only I had enough balloons. Now I'm older and wiser and 'know' that it is not possible. To some extend it is a good thing to learn that there are limits, it keeps us safe. But I do wonder sometimes if we don't learn this there-are-limits-lesson to well. That we put limits where they don't need to be. I want to see the world again through the eyes of a child.

I often dream about traveling the world with only some basics, my sketchbook and paint, to have time to absorb all those little details that make life so beautiful and that we tend to rush by most of the time. For the time being it's great to have those places where the world comes to you* and to have mind-travel-compangions. /*the zoo and the airport
