You know when you're thoughts go places you don't want to go? I had that last night. Sitting in the train this mornig I opened my notebook and read this (third pic) which I wrote last week. How is that for starting a week :) !

4 men & a magnolia tree

(my little nephew -heart-)

It sure was a sunny sunday. I was supposed to cook for fifteen people, but it was so warm and we ordered chinese. More time for chatting and photographing. One of the wives joked, when I showed her the photos: 'everybody looks good in front of this tree'. And they do :)

(Someone told me about a movie that called magnolia tree..? I have to find out, cause a movie with that title has to be a good one..)

Corner View: Wisdom from an elder..

This weeks theme is 'wisdom from an elder'. The biggest lesson I learned from my mom is not asking myself why, but why not? That's a whole change of mind when you think of it. She always told me -and still does- that all things are possible.

I keep myself in balance by this wisdom my dad teached me: Keep It Stupid Simple :)

One year without

Last night I watched the documentary 'One Year Without Oil', about a family that goes on an oil diet for one year. I find people documentaries often so inspiring that I watch them with my notebook on my lap. I would really recommend this one. Not that I am so tremendously envrironmentally conscious, but because its so well made. It's the psychology of changing habits, it's the amazing wisdom of young children, it's the setting (Finland) and going back to the basics (which they are forced to do, like making their own toothpaste and hair gel), it's about ideals and the price we are willing to pay for them and oh ... its about the environment too of course.

Lose the blues

Love these colours. Unfortunately tonight feel a bit like the woman on the first picture. (a real antique photo btw). The other one is a detail of a print I bought in New York it didn't quite survive the journey, but that only made it prettier. Now I'm going to lose the blues by watching the movie that says on the cover

Poor Princess

I saw her again today..

At my Bus Stop. The Poor Princess.

She is a homeless Person

(and has the saddest look in her eyes).

Encounter II

My friend who is adopted is pregnant.
'This (looking at her belly) is the first family I'm going to meet', she said.

Change of mind

N. didn't like babies. Now she wants 100 more, she says.

Ooops!

She accidently took the wrong medicines. The doctors are worried. It will be okay she says: I am a bear.
