Merry Christmas!

I just absolutely can't believe how fast this year is passing by! I don't feel ready yet for closing this year and for christmas, but fact is it's already here. So I better surrender: Leave my to do list out of sight and sip my hot choclate & listen to this. Tomorrow I'm off to 'Köln' to celebrate!
Merry Christmas to you, I hope you have a great time!!
(and a hug for those of you for whom this time isn't easy)

Catching Up

When I left home thursday I couldn't suspect that I wasn't going to be back untill yesterday afternoon, all because of the snow! Despite the cold I convinced myself to go for a walk and capture some of the beauty outside. I'm looking forward to more beautiful walks, but first I've got some deadlines to tackle. Stay warm!

Every year we save for a christmas dinner at a fancy restaurant. Some of the them we're so good I can still tatste them. Although I'm not really a high heels and lots of make up girl I love to make an exception for the christmas dinner. I already planned my outfit, a new mix of things I've had for ages, good thing that I hardly throw anything away:)
More traditions? Srart here!

Last Sunday we decided to do a last minute 'Sinteklaas' gathering with a big pile of improvised gifts & sweets (left overs from four households). It was real fun to see how creative everybody had been making something of all most nothing!
(the pile of gifts was irresitable for my little nephew who kept on diving into it :)

This week I saw (How to stay warm)

A good way to stay to stay warm. Another good way to stay warm: hats. Suddenly a great variety of hats emerge at the Dutch streets (Russsian hats, 1930 hats, woolen hats, classy ones). I don't know where they come from, but people you look so good!
(snow effect:, I can't remember where I found it first, but it's realy fun)

Happy December (& CV: Rain)

This time last year was very rainy, now we have snow! I am enjoying these cold days and time indoors a lot so far. The hot coffee and hot choclate just taste so good after a walk in the freezing cold & since yesterday evening there is the a light but lovely scent of the (real!) christmas tree. Good time for deep thoughts and lots of reading. Hello December!

Taking a Different Perspective

This theme is very close to my heart. I love to renew my thinking. How do I want to live? (freedom, quality over quantity, doing new things, slow living) Why am I doing things the way I do them? Because this is what I think I need to do? Or because I think this is what others expect from me? I love to stay close to how I am made and to encourage others to do the same. Having a different perspective on life, isn't always easy (I do not always feel brave enough) but at the same time it keeps me excited about life like a child & that is worth something!
(I'm very excited to see/hear what your thoughts are on this subject!)

Corner View: Anything Goes

Thanksgiving is not a widespread tradition in Holland (yet), but I love everything about it! I think being thankfull (sometimes really easy & sometimes with some effort..) is such a big part of being happy. And there is no better way to celebrate that than with good food! What do you think that I should serve? Any tips? Please share!
(Conrner View is a weekly theme all around the world. This weeks theme 'anything goes'is from Ninja, want to see more? Start with Theresa! )

The trick is not to let the cold scare you. To go for a walk regularly. To see what an everchanging piece of Art nature is. To enjoy seasonal food. To add cinnamon to your coffee.

(autumn is this weeks theme of 'corner view' a weekly theme with participants from all over the world, you can start here)
