In a distance..


Suddenly such a distance between us.. Of all the changes going on at the moment, this is probably the most difficult one*, but at the same time I am thankfull to have people in my life who make saying good bye so hard**

* my sister migrated last week
** paraphrasing Pooh
1. Drawing while talking with my sister about her then upcoming move
2. Birthday portrait a few weeks ago
3. Thank God for Skype!

    Skype is wonderful for staying in touch with loved ones far away. It was a lifeline for me when my daughter was traveling to so many countries and gone for 7 months!

    Oef ja, dat is een lastige..!
    Skype is dan een geweldige uitvinding.
    Maar het maakt haar niet minder ver weg – gevoelsmatig.

    Toch he; die Pooh is helemaal niet zo'n dommige beer. ;-)

      Klopt, maar als ik mijn bejaarde buurvrouw dan hoor over de emigratie van haar zus naar Australië in de jaren 50...dan probeer ik niet te klagen.. (But it still sucks

    Where did your sister move? I am not close to either of my sisters, but I am very close to my parents and their house is a 14 hour drive from mine. We don't skype, but we speak almost every date. I am so glad for cellphone technology. In the old days, it would have cost a fortune in long distance charges just to speak once a week!

    how exiting for your sister ... I have never been very happy with skype, the google hangout works much better for me.

    There is a gain in the loss, perhaps: holiday visits to accompany the Skype sessions. (I am not close to my siblings at all, but I can understand how hard this must feel when you are. And it's obvious that you are very close. Hugs.)
