Spoiling the Senses

First reflecting on the storm of images* that is now part of our daily life here and the next day participating in it here, surrendering to it. Spoiling the senses with images, sounds, movement, taste and even smell**.

This was the end of my birthdayweek. Not a bad start.

Cake & Cards

No birthday without coffee, cake & cards. 1. Choclatecake with dark choclat, marshmallows, cook crumbs, bounty on the inside and white choclate on top. 2. Deers on top (idea fron Nigella Lawson, love her) 3. Sweet surprises in the mailbox! Thank you J & **EYE-SNACKS** !

If I had a day

...that I could design my way. It would contain a big city, lots of art, a little bit of shopping, a little more vintage shopping, homemade fries & beer and good company.

Yesterday was that day!

Do you see any differences?

I have a huge fascination for the passing of time. Something I discuss (and joke about) every birthday. This musn't be mustaken for the 'I-want-to-be-forever-young' thought ' it's more that I'm really conscious of the fact that time is a gift. How can I make the most of every minute? I think one of the strongest tools there is to make the most of every minute is not waisting time by doing things for the wrong reasons (don't I sound wiser already?;) Every birthday is like an evaluation & like a second chance.

Remember that wonderment you had as a kid? Sometimes, when I go for a walk, I do.

Butterflies

Creative people are blessed. Maybe even spoiled. Feeling like being in love most of the time. Butterflies jumping up and down in your stomach. But..butterflies come and go. That's what they do. And when they go -Scared by little things. Anoying things. Like big to-do-lists or physical discomfort or worries- Than I miss them terribly.

I think I saw one this morning. It's a start. I'll just patiently remove the 'scary' stuff and wait for this one to take his friends back with him.

The Best Ingrediënts

Somehow I didn't wake up with the best mood this morning. So I decided to cheer myself up with the best ingrediënts I know: food & art! This salade is the perfect saturday treat, it's inspired by a receipy I found in an old summer magazine: Rocket mixed salade, raspberries, goat cheese, chives, roasted hazelnuts, radish, lemon, sprinkled with walnut oil and raspberry vinegar.

School of Life

'Direction, not intention, determines destination'* is the first note I made in my new notebook.

In stead of going over and over things in my mind, I will research what other inspiring people have to say about it and take notes like I am back in school. I'm excited to see where this journey will take me!
